MAPS
Given that the app EX0102 Eos MAP Services (MAPS) is:
- Free Library
- Cannot be sold or installed individually
- It only installs as a dependency
- Not in price list
- It will not be posted as an offer on AppSource
- Google or Bing subscriptions required
The MAPS app is used by the system to:
- Bing Maps or Google Maps integration
- Geocoding: convert addresses into geographic coordinates: Customers, Vendors, Contacts, Locations, Ship to Addresses, Order Addresses
- View maps embedded in BC
- Also extendable to other services.
Press ALT + Q and digit “MAPS”
Setup
On the Setup page you can define the service to be used for geolocation and enter the serial Nr. used to save the coordinates.
GeoLocations (MAPS)
In GeoLocations MAPS you can set all the data for the management of geolocation for customers, vendors, contacts, locations, send to addresses, order addresses:
The information can then be viewed in the Customer Card from Related->GeoLocations

Up to 125,000 requests / year it is easy to get a free KEY.

To create a KEY to use the subscription you need: 1 Register or login at :

2 Go to “My Account -> My Keys” to create a new API key.
3 Copy and paste the key into Business Central.
In Business Central you then need to create a Service Configuration (EAL):
Setting the following Endpoint Uri = https://dev.virtualearth.net/REST/v1/ and the KEY just created in the ApiKey field.
The newly created Service Configuration (EAL) must then be set in Map Services Setup (MAPS):
The connection test can be done, for example, from a customer’s page and using the GeoLocations function:

Set the billing account for project:
It is possible to set an expense limit. By setting usage limits on the APIs associated with a Key. The risk of “unwanted” calls is reduced.
By setting usage limits, you reduce the risk of excessive or unexpected usage.
From the dashboard it is possible monitor the number of requests made and the performances:
